    I am a traveler in the tradition of Pythagoras, learning the teachings of many cultures and the disciplines of many orders and socieities. This site is basically a journal of sorts, of one part of my travels: Down the rough rugged road of Freemasonry

    “The First Great Light” is a website dedicated to sharing information about Freemasonry. My reason for doing this is simple, there are a lot of websites dedicated to misrepresenting Free Masonry based on ignorance and fear.

    Prior to joining the craft myself, I was one of those folks who bought into many of the misconceptions and my study about the craft not only disproved a number of conspiracy theories, but lead to me becoming a Prince Hall Mason.

    This site will develop into a resource for greater understanding of Masonry in general and Prince Hall Masonry in particular as well as it's roll in the development of Black America.

    "Knowledge" is the first great light, as well as the best known cure for ignorance.
